When we come face to face with our own sin. When we see gentleness, peace, joy and love incarnate be crushed by human stupidity and cruelty. We know terribly the part we have played, we see our own failure, we see the harm we have caused, and we must somehow muster appreciation and gratitude to the one who rescues us from death in the midst of sorrow as we watch our sins destroy him. Good Friday is the day when Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. This is an important event in Christianity, as it represents the sacrifices and suffering in Jesus' life.
